In our section: ‘Employee in the spotlight’ we like to show which people are behind our organisation. On a daily basis, Archive-IT is committed to supporting organisations in the transition from a paper to a digital working environment. In addition, software is being developed to guarantee safe, digital accessibility. But who does what? And what are the motivations of the employees of the Archive-IT team? Time for a look behind the scenes.
In the ‘Employee in the spotlight’ of May, Séverine Degives was nominated by Joan Westendorff. We would like to introduce Séverine to you!
How did you end up at Archive-IT?
“Seventeen years ago, I started working at Jalema Belgium. At that time, Jalema was responsible for the physical archiving of documents. Archive-IT Belgium was founded in 2018. Archive-IT then took over a large part of the services of Jalema Belgium and added digitisation and ICT solutions. I then started working for both companies. That was a great opportunity for me to diversify my work. I now have a fine division between my work for Jalema and Archive-IT.”
Can you tell me anything about your current position?
“My job is pretty multifaceted, actually, I’m a woman of everything. I deal with accounting, taxes, insurance, buildings, vehicles, human resources and so on. Basically, everything except commerce is part of my job. I am also directly involved in scanning projects. This can be at the client’s location as well as at ourselves.”
What does your average day look like?
“A big part of my day is accounting. Think about invoicing, making payments, budgeting, reporting, salaries and so on. Very independent and serious. On an average day I also regularly work with Sales, both internally and externally. That social aspect of working together and communicating with colleagues is very important to me!”
Where do you get satisfaction during your work?
“Like most bookkeepers, I like punctuality and accuracy. If the numbers are correct, the correct digits and numbers have been entered and a timely delivery has taken place, that certainly makes my day!”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
“In 10 years, I’ll still see myself working at Archive-IT and Jalema. I’ve been very satisfied for 17 years, and never change a winning team! Of course, I definitely want to continue to develop myself internally. I see this more in the direction of communication and social work, where I can further expand my administrative and logistic work with a new challenge. Not doing what I’ve always done, but also being open to new opportunities and challenges! Due to the dynamics of Archive-IT, I think that these opportunities for personal development are certainly possible.”
Nice to know: Séverine is very sporty! In her spare time she is busy running and besides that she also participates in triathlons. She trains 3 to 6 times a week so this requires a lot of discipline. She already has 6 marathons and 1 Iron Man to her name!
For the next month you can put someone in the spotlight. Who do you want to nominate and why?
“For the ‘Employee in the spotlight’ of July, I nominate Christine. I often work with her for the staff section and am curious about her motives and motivation!”
