But that means a big change in government! By 2017, citizens and entrepreneurs must be able to handle everything digitally. How digital is your municipality?
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations is preparing a number of legislative proposals that will enable citizens and businesses to deal with their dealings with the government digitally by 2017 at the latest. This is also called Digital 2017. These legislative proposals mean that all relevant documents must be digital. After all, being able to work digitally is only possible if the necessary documents are available.
Support with digitisation
At a time when municipalities have to take on new tasks and cut costs, digitisation does not immediately have the highest priority. Digitisation threatens to get bogged down in a portal at the front. This is a shame, because digitisation at the front is good, but it is better to organise the service provision more intelligently with the aid of digitisation. This will help to achieve these savings!
It is typical to see digitisation as a goal rather than a means of properly organising new tasks and organising existing services more efficiently. Digitisation will only really work if it brings about an integral change in people, processes and (often IT) resources. Smart digitization is an organizational change that demands a lot from a municipality, but therefore also delivers much more.
