Artificial what…? Pff, another difficult word; do we need to get into it? We think so. In short, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the collaboration between machines and people. By mid-2019, it will be impossible to imagine our lives without technology. High scholars argue that AI is not a hot item, but in terms of size it can be compared to an industrial revolution. Just look at the jobs of the future.

Are machines taking over from us?

It is not the case that machines replace people. Artificial Intelligence is based on the fact that, through the use of machines, people are strengthened. Machines can do the heavy work. By applying intelligence to machines, repetitive work can be programmed in advance. Man is flexible but cannot do eternal work. A robot, on the other hand, works longer, a sensor sees more and big data knows more. AI will take over people’s jobs, but on the other hand it will also create new jobs and opportunities.

Artificial Intelligence in practice

Some examples of Artificial Intelligence in practice may include: image recognition, speech recognition, translation and games. Archive-IT also applies AI within its field of expertise. Think, for example, of OCR, which is also a form of AI. Smart technology converts an image (scanned document) into text. But we go much further. For Artificial Intelligence you need data, a lot of data. The more data, the better’ is what it sounds like. But more data is not always better. We prefer better data, i.e. quality to quantity.
