In our section: ‘Employee in the Spotlight,’ we are pleased to showcase the people behind our organization. Every day, Archive-IT is committed to supporting organizations in the transition from a paper-based to a digital working environment. Additionally, software is developed to ensure secure digital accessibility. But who does what? And what motivates the team members of Archive-IT? Time for a look behind the scenes!

This month we would like to introduce you to Mat Schell!

Mat, Can You Tell Us About the Progression of Your Role at Archive-IT?

"I started at our sister company Jalema, 28 years ago. I began as a technician in the Benelux, where I installed archive shelving, paternoster cabinets, and mobile installations, among other things. It was a great job because I got to visit many different places and experienced a lot of interesting things. After that, I moved into production at Jalema, and my field service role transitioned into an internal role, eventually leading me to the technical department. When the JFM (Jalema File Management) service was introduced in 1999 as a separate branch of the company, I made the switch. JFM was actually the predecessor of Archive-IT, where we would take our clients' archives to our storage facilities and store them under secure conditions. The main reason for this at the time was lack of space. JFM eventually became fully independent and continued in 2004 under the name Archive-IT. Within Archive-IT, I have been given great opportunities for growth, and I seized them with both hands, resulting in an MT position within this wonderful company!"

What Are Your Current Responsibilities at Archive-IT?

"I have a wide range of responsibilities. I am responsible for the entire logistics division and manage the services department. This is where all our projects related to digitization and archiving are carried out. Together with my team members in the Business Administration department, we handle tasks such as pricing calculations and customer support inquiries. Additionally, I am also involved in facility and procurement-related matters. All of this fits me very well, and it's precisely this variety of tasks and responsibilities that keeps me involved in many aspects of our organization!"

What Does Your Average Workday Look Like?

"Extremely diverse. This ranges from creating price calculations for a large project to coordinating a new building within our organization. I also regularly accompany one of my sales colleagues to meet clients. As I mentioned, my responsibilities and tasks are very varied, which is what makes it so enjoyable."

What Makes Archive-IT the Organisation Where You Enjoy Working?

"Archive-IT is a company characterized by an informal atmosphere, short lines to management, and a lot of mutual respect. A pragmatic attitude and a lot of freedom. We understand each other very well, especially with colleagues you have worked with for a long time."
