Through the Social Fund, Archive-IT has once again donated to various charitable causes, wonderful initiatives, and other special actions in the second quarter of 2024. These donations are made possible through a portion of the profit distribution set aside by the employees of Archive-IT themselves. This amount is then matched by the management of Archive-IT and donated to various causes. This quarter, we have made several donations, and we would be happy to share more details with you!
Jeugdvakantieweek Raamsdonksveer
Since 1993, the Stichting Jeugdvakantieweek Raamsdonksveer has brought together 250 children every year for a week full of holiday activities. This week is intended for children aged 5 to 14. To ensure the high quality of the activities, the foundation enforces a maximum number of participants. Unfortunately, this "full is full" rule means that they have to disappoint children every year. Thanks to the dedication of many enthusiastic supervisors, the foundation hopes to continue for many years to come.
Leergeld Beesel
In the Netherlands, one in twelve children lives in poverty, which hinders their participation in normal activities. Stichting Leergeld Beesel provides support by helping children with essential items such as school supplies and costs, sports fees and clothing, general clothing, bicycles, music lessons, and even birthday presents. This foundation specifically focuses on children from Beesel, Reuver, and Offenbeek up to the age of 17. The mission of Stichting Leergeld Beesel is clear: every child should be able to participate because being part of activities now means making a difference later.
Twitter Helpt
The Twitter Helpt Foundation supports families with financial problems through monthly food assistance. Their goal is to help households that struggle to have enough money left for things like groceries at the end of the month. They also offer budget coaching to teach families how to manage their finances wisely. Throughout the year, they organize various fun activities and collect clothing to distribute to those in need. What makes the Twitter Helpt Foundation so special is their dedication to always offering a listening ear and being ready to support families!
Jarige Job
In the Netherlands, many children cannot celebrate their birthdays because there is not enough money for gifts or a party. Since 2010, Stichting Jarige Job has been providing birthday boxes worth €35 to children from low-income families. These birthday boxes contain everything needed to celebrate a child's birthday, both at home and at school. Stichting Jarige Job believes that every child deserves a birthday and helps more than 100,000 children each year to celebrate their special day. In addition to distributing birthday boxes, the foundation also offers an educational program for schools. This program teaches children about poverty in a playful way.
Alpe d’HuZes
Stichting Alpe d’HuZes organizes an annual sporting event where participants climb the Alpe d’HuZes, a mountain in the French Alps that is about 1860 meters high. Participants climb the mountain on foot, by running, or by cycling, and many even do it two to three times in a row. The foundation’s motto is “giving up is not an option.” The goal of the climb is to raise as much money as possible for cancer research and to improve the quality of life for cancer patients. Stichting Alpe d’HuZes is entirely run by volunteers, some of whom have been contributing to the event for over 10 years.
Roparun
Stichting Roparun organizes an annual relay race between Rotterdam and Paris during the Pentecost weekend. The relay lasts about three days and doesn’t stop, testing the endurance of the runners. The total distance covered is approximately 520 kilometers. The foundation was founded in 1991 when two friends made a bet to run from Rotterdam to Paris. Nowadays, thousands of runners participate annually, raising money for charity. The funds raised through Roparun are donated to various good causes, with a primary focus on helping cancer patients and providing enjoyable days for them and their families, as long as possible. The motto of Stichting Roparun is: “Adding life to days when often no more days can be added to life.”
You too can suggest charitable causes that could benefit from a one-time donation. These will be reviewed by the Social Fund, and who knows, we may be able to help. Together we are strong! Contact us at sociaalfonds@archive-it.nl.
