In our section: 'Employee in the Spotlight,' we are pleased to showcase the people behind our organization. Every day, Archive-IT is committed to supporting organizations in the transition from a paper-based to a digital working environment. In addition, software is developed to ensure secure digital accessibility. But who does what? And what motivates the team members at Archive-IT? Time for a look behind the scenes.
This month we would like to introduce you to Joël Lejeune!
How Did You End Up at Archive-IT?
"Before the founding of Archive-IT, I had been working for over 28 years at our sister company, Jalema, in Belgium. In recent years, the physical archiving needs of our customers gradually decreased, while the interest in digitizing documents has increased day by day. The need to establish a Belgian Archive-IT branch was a natural consequence. I immediately said yes to the proposal when Archive-IT Belgium was founded in July 2018!"
Can You Tell Us Something About Your Current Role?
"I am the Account Manager for the French-speaking part of Belgium. My colleague Tom Buysse is responsible for the Dutch-speaking part. The recognized leadership position of Jalema also offers opportunities in Belgium, where I can provide support to ease the transition from physical to digital archiving. The arrival of Archive-IT in the Belgian market is still very recent, and we are currently conducting a lot of research on how to best position Archive-IT in the Belgian market."
What Gives You Satisfaction in Your Work?
"What I always find very rewarding is the opportunity to meet many people, sometimes in very different roles and areas. Gaining the trust of prospects and clients to ultimately offer them a solution that meets their needs gives me great satisfaction. The idea of being part of the first Archive-IT team in Belgium motivates me. We feel like pioneers, even though the market is highly competitive. I get energy from being able to position myself as a problem solver."
You Work for Archive-IT Belgium, Do You See Major Differences in the Market Compared to the Netherlands?
"My colleagues in Reuver are often surprised by how easy it is for us to get in direct contact with people. It's very simple: just open the door and ask for an appointment! Often, a date is then set. Another difference is the strictness and structure that you see in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, all medical records meet the same criteria and are (or so it seems) organized according to a relatively universal structure. In Belgium, it varies from region to region (and let's not forget that the country is divided into 3 communities) and is also very different from one institution to another."
What Makes Archive-IT the Organisation Where You Enjoy Working?
"As colleagues, we regularly share experiences with each other. The team spirit and mutual support are genuine. I feel a real willingness to work on a common project, whether that’s in the Netherlands, France, or Belgium! Archive-IT is evolving. The company that was founded in 2004 is no longer the same as it is today. Soon, new solutions will be introduced, and new markets will be explored. This innovation is motivating."
