This month we would like to introduce you to Oscar Huibers!
Oscar, Can You Tell Us About Your Roles Over the Past Few Years?
"I started at Archive-IT over 10 years ago as a developer in the software development team. I have been involved in the development of the SaaS platform from the very beginning. Additionally, I invested a lot of energy into automating the software deployment. Currently, I am the team leader of the software development department and hold the role of Security Officer. I am also the operational contact for the hosting of the SaaS platform."
What Does Your Average Workday Look Like?
"In my case, there isn't an average workday. Besides coordinating and planning development tasks, I often play a role as a point of reference when diving into functional software requirements and their technical implementation. Additionally, evaluating test results and preparing new releases are also part of my tasks. Furthermore, I also provide technical support during implementations of VirtualArchive and/or migrations from JIM to VirtualArchive."
What Do You Find Important When Performing Your Tasks?
"On a personal level, I find enjoyment and challenge to be important factors. From a business perspective, customer focus and quality are key. In some cases, an opportunistic approach is the only option, and it comes at the expense of quality. Often, this will come back to you later because it's necessary to meet the quality requirements."
What Do You Find Fulfilling in Your Work?
"I find fulfillment in successful implementations and migrations. Additionally, I enjoy seeing that as a team, we are able to translate complex issues and needs into functional solutions that add value for the customer."
